Y5/6 Privileges
We recognise that as pupils enter in to Year 5, they are gaining maturity and beginning to prepare for their move to Secondary school. As a school, it is our duty to support them with this transition and therefore feel that they can have some privileges that the rest of the school cannot. These include:
- A mature school uniform - shirt, tie, optional blazer
- Bring their own backpack to school, and no longer require the school logo bag.
- Bring their own pencil case in to school with their own stationary. This must include pencils, ruler, glue stick and a BLUE berol pen.
- Bring a mobile phone to school. This cannot be a smartphone (so no internet access) and is only allowed to those children who have been given consent to walk to/from school independently.
- Walk to/from school independently, with parent/carer consent. See below for form.
- Planned events with other local schools (Spelling Bee, Cross Country, Tag Rugby, Music) to begin to meet your peers who will transition in to the Secondary school together.
